Digital PR to increase brand awareness
We worked with Meet Hugo before it became part of the overall product offering of Clarity Stack, an innovative business intelligence company that specialises in generating high-quality, tailored leads and sales intelligence to make business development more manageable.
CEO Ben Harper started Meet Hugo back in 2018 to help B2B businesses grow. Their UK HQ in Cambridgeshire houses their leadership, research, sales and customer success teams. They’ve since opened offices in Leeds and across the big blue in Miami, USA.
We were brought on board to support their growth by developing a brand awareness campaign that would spread the word about what they do.
Meet Hugo contacted us at the beginning of 2020 and asked us to provide PR support, deliver digital PR campaigns and consult on their SEO. They wanted to significantly increase their brand awareness and gain widespread international coverage.
There were a few challenges we faced, with regards to SEO, the challenge came when comparing them against competitors as there weren’t any other direct competitors in the space. And, when it came to PR, as they were such a new business, their brand wasn’t one that’d be instantly recognised by journalists or industry magazines. So, we had to get creative and build a PR strategy that would allow us to scale up activity over a period of time and get them noticed.
We worked closely with both Ben and his team to execute a digital marketing plan that would support all areas of the business. This included an initial audit of the website to ensure it was fit for purpose and in the best possible shape to grow, along with the creation of a comprehensive content marketing strategy.
We worked with internal team members to ensure fresh content was being published each week. As a forward-thinking business, it wasn’t difficult to produce a variety of content types from advice blogs, business growth guides, infographics, company culture insights and news of their community support ventures.
Along with supporting the distribution of their content and news, we also developed a strategy to source and target a range of journalists to arrange interviews for numerous publications, podcasts and live events. Further to this, we monitored relevant news outlets in order to provide comments and opinions on new stories.
During our time working with Meet Hugo, we saw an 800% increase in organic traffic and our PR and Digital PR campaigns contributed towards more than 35,000 organic site visitors.
We also gained coverage on TechRound, Management Today, Disruptive LIVE, The Fortnight Podcast and The Adam Stott Podcast. Through the work we did, not only did we raise their local profile by obtaining coverage in the local press, but nationally and internationally.
